Was conquering the world in July not enough? PartyPoker.com believe the world is not enough, and is again offering the chance to achieve total ‘World Domination’ this November.
Conquer 72 cities by earning PartyPoints and pick up freerolls, cash prizes and a potential top prize of $100,000 on the way – the promotion runs from 7th November – 31st December 2011 or when all the cities are given away! In the first run of World Domination back in July there were 2.1 million cities given away but now it is bigger and better with more than 3.3 million up for grabs! The premise is simple – divide and conquer! Rome wasn’t built in a day but it could be won in an hour!
A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: The idea is to turn your PartyPoints into cities – the empire building continues until the end of 2011 or until all cities are conquered. There are 72 cities from all over the globe to conquer and a top prize of $100,000. Just earn 10 PartyPoints to be randomly awarded a city from 72 available – many of the cities have cash prizes and freeroll seats attached. The big money comes in when you can complete all the cities in an entire continent, for example, getting all of Asia wins you $5,000 and Europe will bag you $20,000. Finally, a player who gets every single country has world domination – worth a cool $100,000.”
As an incentive to get started, PartyPoker.com give you your first city for just 5 points. Players can earn up to 100 cities a day throughout the World Domination promotion. Reveal the ones collected by logging in to your Party Account , checking the interactive map and start to accumulate a fortune. See the countdown of cities in a ticker on the World Domination promotion page.
Survivor Tournaments at Ladbrokes Poker are fast paced, white knuckle tournaments with nail biting finishes, where every second counts! A perfect tournament for adrenalin junkies in need of a quick fix. They are time-based, so YOU know the tournament duration, and can plan your day accordingly.
How does it work?
The tournament is divided into time-based elimination levels. At the end of each level a percentage of players with the lowest chip stacks are eliminated from the tournament. An Indicator on the table alerts you to: YOUR survivor status – SAFE, WARNING or DANGER, the chip stack you need to avoid elimination, time left in the elimination level, and the number of players to be eliminated. All the information YOU need to make that quick decision is available to you at a glance.
Scenarios:
“You are SAFE from elimination with less than 60 seconds left of the elimination level. You are holding pocket kings, but four players playing behind you are short stacked – in DANGER, and bound to go all in pre-flop scraping to avoid elimination, what do you do?”
1. Risk your stack and play, knowing you will be going into a coin flip situation and face possible elimination.
2. Be safe, fold, and survive another level, leaving the short stacks to scrap it out amongst themselves.
“You are in DANGER of being eliminated. You have less than 60 seconds left to survive, what do you do?”
1. Do nothing, get eliminated and fizzle out.
2. Risk your stack and go all in, hope to hit and survive. If not, at least you went out in a blaze of glory! Yeah baby!
Rewards are great as all survivors share equally in the booty!
Genting Poker’s second charity tournament of the year is upon us and they have another Palm Beach Big Game seat up for grabs courtesy of Genting Poker and The Palm Beach Casino, London.
At the beginning of the year Genting Poker held a tournament for a friend of Genting Poker called Robert (Bob) Clements. Earlier this year, Bob decided he was going to focus his energies on raising money for St. Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham, the place that looks after him and other people with terminal illnesses. Since his decision he has managed to raise more then £10,000 for his charity including £1,630 from the last charity tournament.
This year we are making more of a personal appeal. Since Bob decided to focus on fund raising, his condition has deteriorate and he requires more and more help around home. This has lead to his home requiring some modifications for him to be able to stay with his family. Their personal savings and grants from charities such as McMillan have helped towards the cost of this but they are still £3.5k short and we would like to ask you, to help us, help this extraordinary man.
The tournament Robert’s Wish 2, will be held Tuesday 1st November 8pm and will be a £10 freezeout no fee with a Palm Beach Big Game seat up for grabs worth £1080. All funds collected will go towards Bob’s required modifications.
His family are still working tirelessly to secure further funding and should they not require the full amount we raise, any excess funding will go to his beloved charity, St Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham.
Thank you and see you at the tables.

Online poker players claim to encounter bots in some games, but Home Game features available at 888 Poker and PokerStars could eliminate this suspicion, Canadian-poker reports.
Canadian-poker reports that players have been citing recent experiences at online poker sites in which they have come face to face – so to speak – with bots programmed to compete against real players in some types of games. Fortuitously, 888 Poker recently implemented their new “Home Games” feature that allows players to participate in invitation-only cash games where they can interact with each other via webcams and microphones. PokerStars offers a similar feature allowing players to interact via webcams. This could be just the ticket to assuring players that their opponents are actual human beings rather than robots programed to win using mathematical algorithms.
888 Poker has been an innovative force in the online poker industry, explained Canadian-poker spokesperson Leon Daniels. “888 has taken a concept introduced by PokerStars and created a feature that appeals to online poker players across Canada who want to see and hear their opponents, even if they’re on the other side of the country or the world. This kind of unprecedented human interaction in online poker will banish much of the negativity players feel toward suspected bots.”
“Players deserve fair competition against people who rely on their skill, wit, and luck to win – not bots who operate according to algorithms,” Daniels argued. “Having the option to play games against known, visible opponents will give a lot of players peace of mind, especially amidst the controversy that’s engulfed the industry since Full Tilt Poker lost its license.”
Bwin Poker, while lacking a similar Home Games feature accessible to Canadian players, has also shown innovation in their development of online poker iPhone apps. “This brings more human connection to real people,” Daniels added, “and further humanizes online poker.”
Technology is progressing and allowing online poker players even greater security, Daniels explained. “For players who want more control, 888 Poker is working to provide it. This is just one more reason why we consistently recommend this site to our readers who value a great platform and a company that goes the extra mile for us.”
